Wristwatch illustrating online auction bidding

How online watch auctions work in Australia

ChronoBid runs timed online auctions for luxury and collectible watches. Bids are in AUD. The highest accepted bid at close is the hammer, then published fees apply.

Quick answer

Register, open a lot, bid at or above the next minimum, watch the fixed countdown, and if you win, settle hammer plus buyer’s premium before collection or shipping.

Timed sales, not a live room only

Lots open and close on published clocks. You bid from your account against other registered collectors. Bidder names stay confidential on the public floor.

Each lot shows photos, catalogue notes, current bid, next minimum, and the published buyer’s premium so you can price an all-in limit before you bid.

Increments and closing time

Your next bid must meet the published increment above the current highest bid. The lot page shows that step.

The closing time is fixed. Bids do not extend the clock. Place your bid before the countdown hits zero.

After the hammer

If you win, ChronoBid confirms settlement in AUD. Payment covers the hammer plus the published buyer’s premium and any confirmed GST treatment on Auction Fees.

Collection and shipping steps sit on Payment and Delivery. Buyer Protection covers dispute paths if something goes wrong after settlement.
